Although knowing how to make a hit song, Morgan Wallen found himself in a little bit of trouble after tossing a chair off the roof. While wanting to put the incident behind him, the moment became part of his legacy. A drink was even created to celebrate the moment and chair. Having focused on his career in country music, Wallen recently received a special honor from his high school when they named the baseball field after him.

Back before Wallen became a big name in country music, he was a simple teenager attending the Gibbs High School in Tennessee. At the school, Wallen showed a love for baseball and even got the chance to compete against another country singer ERNEST. With Wallen graduating in 2011, the principal, Jason Webster, celebrated the country singer, revealing he remained a constant contributor to the school.
Naming the field “Morgan Wallen Field”, Webster said, “Morgan played baseball at Gibbs during his time. He’s part of the 2010 state championship team and if you go to his concerts, you hear him speak fondly of his time with Gibbs Baseball coach Davis. He speaks very fondly of his time with coach and you see him wearing a Gibbs Eagles baseball jersey a lot of times.”

Morgan Wallen Continues To Give Back
Webster also touched on Wallen’s ongoing efforts at the school. “He’s been positive promoter of Gibbs and has given back throughout his time after high school. We’re thankful for the things that he does, not just for Gibbs high school, but Knox County schools and the community at large. He’s a very giving person and we’re excited to do this for him.”

When looking at the numbers, the Morgan Wallen Foundation donated $35,000 to the baseball and band program. That was just the start as the organization also donated another $140,000 for renovations at the Gibbs Ruritan Park. And the list kept on going with yet another $100,000 going to the Jefferson County Baseball Park.
Able to sell out arenas, it seemed that Wallen continued to use his stardom to help others and to give back to the town that helped shape his future.
