Meghan Markle Shares Never-Before-Seen Photo of Daughter Princess Lilibet, 3, to Mark International Women’s Day

Meghan also shared photos of herself with her mother and with husband Prince Harry

Meghan Markle just shared a never-before-seen photo of Princess Lilibet.

The photo was part of an Instagram carousel shared by Meghan, 43, on Saturday, March 8, to commemorate International Women’s Day. In the snap, her 3-year-old daughter is on a boat, facing away from the camera while cradled in the arms of her dad, Prince Harry.

“Happy International Women’s Day!” she captioned the post. “Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”

The lifestyle entrepreneur included a black and white photo of herself as a child playing with her mother, Doria Ragland, and an oceanside snap of herself with Harry, 40, laughing together in sunglasses and beachwear.

Meghan Markle Reveals the ‘Mom Thing’ She Did Even Before She Had Kids in Netflix Show

Meghan has made it a tradition to commemorate International Women’s Day in some form or another each year.

In 2024, The Duchess of Sussex joined a SXSW panel called “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen.” During the panel discussion, Meghan shared that she wrote to the company Procter & Gamble when she was just 11 years old to address the fact that they only advertised dishwashing soap to women.

The year prior, Meghan and members of her organization, the Archewell Foundation, attended a Los Angeles fundraising event for Harvest Home, which helps provide housing, mental well-being support and classes to expectant mothers who have faced challenges such as domestic violence, substance use and homelessness.

The Archewell Foundation posted photos from the event to its website, with the message: “Happy International Women’s day to all of you! Whether donating your time, funds or helping a woman in your community, let’s all celebrate the women in our lives today and every day!”

The Archewell Foundation also previously joined forces with Moms First and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media to fund a study about the representation of mothers in entertainment, according to Vanity Fair.

“My past experience as an actress, and now today as a producer and mother, have amplified my belief in the critical importance of supporting women and moms both behind the lens and in front of it,” Meghan said in a statement at the time, according to the outlet. “This report about the portrayal of mothers in entertainment highlights the gaps we need to fill to achieve true representation in the content we create and consume, and I’m honored to support this work through the Archewell Foundation.”
