Meghan Markle Shares Rare Snap of Lili Meghan/Instagram

Meghan Markle shared on Instagram that her beloved pup Guy has passed away. “Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know,” the Duchess of Sussex wrote.

In the video she posted with her tribute, her kids make brief appearances—marking rare photos shared of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet by the Sussexes.

The royal couple have kept Archie and Lili out of the spotlight as much as they can. “As a dad, and as parents, I think consent is a really key piece to this,” Prince Harry says in Harry & Meghan. “That if you have children, it should be your consent as to what you share.”

In an interview this past summer, Meghan said, “Our kids are young. They’re three and five. They’re amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

Perhaps Meghan joining Instagram marks a new era of how the Sussexes share their children with the world. In one video clip in the tribute to Guy, one of her kids says, “Cheese, Guy!” In another, Meghan is sitting in the backseat as Prince Harry drives (with their other dog, Pula, in the front seat). Either Archie or Lili says, concerned, “He might fall!” to which Meghan responds, “He’s not gonna fall. Don’t you worry. Mama has him. Thank you for being such a good boy.”

The final clip in the tribute features Meghan and one of her kids singing, “We love you Guy, oh yes we do, we love you Guy, and we’ll be true, when you’re not near us, we’re blue…” Watch the full reel here:

Guy will feature in her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan (watch the trailer above). “Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too,” she wrote on Instagram today. “I have cried too many tears to count – the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too.”
