Tim McGraw Says He Was “A Wild Man” Before Meeting Wife Faith Hill

Country music legend Tim McGraw says he wouldn’t be where he is today without his wife Faith Hill.
Tim, who has been married to Faith since 1996, claims he was a “wild” man before meeting the “This Kiss” singer.
In a recent interview on Tracy Lawrence’s Road House podcast, he opened up about how she is not just an incredibly talented artist, but a “good, good person” as well.
“I’ve been lucky. I’ve been very fortunate. First off, meeting my wife saved my life. I was a wild man,” said McGraw.
The pair, who still remain madly in love 29 years after they first said “I do,”also share three beautiful daughters, Gracie (28), Maggie (26), and Audrey (23).
“She turned my life around. I couldn’t have found a better woman. Not only beautiful and talented, but just a good, good person. And then having our daughters,” McGraw continued. “It’s life-changing. They make you a better person, and they certainly calm the demons in you.”

Tim And Faith Say The Secret To A Happy Marriage Is Having Fun Together

Tim and Faith have always been open about their tips for maintaining a happy, healthy marriage, and the two have always kept laughter and fun at the top of the list.
Around the 20-year mark, the couple, who have countless duets together, shared that challenges have only made them stronger.
“That’s part of growing as humans,” Faith recalled in 2016. “That’s part of growing as a couple. I think you just have to let some things roll off your shoulders and just move on and keep going and holding hands. You’re climbing up the mountain together. You just have to have a little fun.”
Last year, in honor of Faith’s 57th birthday, Tim posted a beautiful tribute to his wife on social media, gushing that he loved Faith with everything he has.

Tim Credits Faith For Helping Him Get Sober
Tim has also been open about how Faith has helped him through many dark times, including his journey to sobriety.
While the country singer has been sober since 2008, McGraw said it took hitting rock bottom and his wife to turn his life around.
“I remember a moment when I was getting out of bed and going to the liquor cabinet and taking a big shot at 8 in the morning and thinking, I have to wake the kids up. I went straight to my wife and said, ‘This is where I’m at,’” he wrote in an Esquire article in 2021. “I was scared. She just grabbed me and hugged me and changed my life.”
