This is the 25th time Antetokounmpo has earned this award for his NBA career and the second time this season. The Greek Freak got his first in Week 5, with San Antonio Spurs forward Harrison Barnes as his counterpart in the Western Conference.
During Week 13, Antetokounmpo averaged 32.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game on 66.7 percent shooting from the field. This season, the two-time league MVP averages a league-high-tying 31.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists on 60.5 percent shooting from the field.

Antetokounmpo, playing through a right patella tendinitis in the past few weeks, dropped 34 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists on 13-for-17 shooting from the field and 8-for-14 shooting from the free throw line.
As things stand, the eight-time NBA All-Star is third in the latest MVP rankings, only behind Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Antetokounmpo last won the MVP award in the 2019-20 campaign
