Cameras caught Caitlin Clark confronting a referee immediately after the Indiana Fever fell to the New York Liberty in controversial fashion on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 90-88 with 2.9 seconds left on the clock, the Fever got one last inbound and opportunity to win or force overtime. The ball got into the hands of Caitlin Clark, who appeared to be fouled by Liberty guard Natasha Cloud as she lost possession of the ball.

But no foul was called, and the clock ran out as the Liberty (3-0) narrowly escaped with a two-point victory to remain undefeated.

Immediately after the game, Caitlin Clark was seen arguing with the referee over the head-scratching no-call:

There were plenty of instances last year where the officials missed blatant fouls against opposing players while defending Clark. As the face of the WNBA, you can bet that his latest no-call will be talked about for a while.

Clark finished the afternoon with 18 points, five rebounds and 10 assists. Aliyah Boston finished with a game-high 27 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Fever (2-2) dropped back to .500.

New York is one of the two remaining undefeated teams, along with the 4-0 Minnesota Lynx.
