Actress Michelle Trachtenberg Was Found Unresponsive In Her Manhattan Apartment
A spokesperson from the New York Police Department confirmed that Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead around 8:00 am today (February 26th). She was 39 years old.

Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call from the actress’s mother and arrived to find Trachtenberg unresponsive in her residence at One Columbus Place, a luxury Manhattan apartment complex. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gary Mantoosh, a representative for Trachtenberg, told USA Today:
“The family requests privacy for their loss. There are no further details at this time.”
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. No foul play is currently suspected.
According to sources cited by the New York Post, Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant before her death. Her appearance in recent social media posts had sparked questions and concerns about her health from her followers.
Remembering Michelle Trachtenberg
Michelle Trachtenberg was a staple in many 2000s television and film favorites. She had her breakout role in “Harriet The Spy” in 1996 when she was just 10 years old.
The New York native was best known for her role as Dawn Summers on Buffy The Vampire Slayer (200-2003) and Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl (2007-2012). Her Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick remembered her in an Instagram story Wednesday, saying he was “so sad” to hear of her passing.
Trachtenberg appeared in many other titles, including EuroTrip, Ice Princess, and Mercy. She acted alongside Matthew Perry, who died in 2023, in 17 Again.
