The Milwaukee Bucks dropped to the fifth seed in the NBA Eastern Conference following their frustrating 104-93 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. After a recent stretch that saw Milwaukee win eight of ten games, they have now lost two in a row and five of their last seven. At 38-30, the Bucks are running out of time to right the ship before the start of the NBA Playoffs.

Milwaukee’s recent run of bad basketball has been especially frustrating because they have struggled mightily offensively. With superstars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo healthy and playing just about every night, it is hard to understand why the team cannot seem to score points at a more frequent pace.
After the game on Tuesday, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers felt it was time for a pow wow with his two superstars.

On Wednesday, NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Rivers called a meeting with Lillard and Giannis after the loss to the Warriors. In that meeting, he offered the two superstars the chance to express their views on how the team can improve:
“With the Bucks struggling recently, and a dispirited loss to the Warriors last night, sources relay to me that head coach Doc Rivers, after the game, called a meeting with his two superstars in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
“Now in this meeting, I’m told, was an open forum for both stars to provide input on how to improve the team. It was a constructive session with each individual being allowed to share their perspective.
“Now this meeting occurred on the heels of the Bucks offense sputtering as of late, and they’ve dropped five of their last seven games. There are 14 games remaining in the season for the Bucks. This is definitely a dire time.”

As one might expect, Bucks fans were not too thrilled about the notion that Rivers needed a meeting with his two stars to figure out how to fix the offense. What is more, many were not happy that, since he needed such a meeting, that he waited until 14 games left in the regular season to have it.
As one can see, many fans are not happy with Coach Rivers at this point. It will be interesting to see what his future in Milwaukee looks like if they do not make a deep playoff run.
