On the heels of an undefeated preseason, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever continued their winning ways in their 2025 WNBA regular-season opener on Saturday.

They blew out Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky 93-58 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Clark, who is fresh off winning the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award last season, recorded a triple-double with 20 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds to go along with four blocks and two steals.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James celebrated Clark’s season-opening triple-double with the following post on X, saying, “TRIPLE DUB CC!! Great way to kick off the season! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.”

How she got that triple-double is now being brought into question.

WNBA fans are upset over Caitlin Clark securing that triple-double late after she was reportedly caught telling her coach she needed one more rebound.

“Caitlin was caught on broadcast telling Stephanie she needed one more rebound for a triple-double. Stephanie put her back in. This is literally illegal,” one fan wrote. “Start the investigation.”

Another fan wrote: “You need to take a closer look at why Clark was pressuring her coach to be let back in the game when they were up over 20 points. It resulted in Dave Portnoy placing a bet for a triple-double, and he won over $300,000.”
