Adele backs Chiefs, defends Taylor Swift ahead of Super Bowl 58: ‘Get a f— life,’ pop star tells Swift critics

Leave it to Adele to speak her mind.
The 16-time Grammy Award winner has never been one to bite her tongue. It’s a quality that has — along with her booming mezzo-soprano voice — helped her become one of the biggest musical acts in the world.
Adele lets that silver tongue spill melodies all across The Colosseum stage as part of her Caesars Palace residency. But this weekend, she shares the Las Vegas spotlight with another high-profile artist: fellow Grammy winner Taylor Swift.
Swift is expected to appear in the stands at Super Bowl 58 on Sunday, joining legions of Chiefs fans as they attempt to power Travis Kelce and his Kansas City teammates to a third title in five years.
Given Adele and Swift’s connections — both are pop culture icons, both have wardrobes sparkled with gold dust and both are dating sports figures (Adele is currently in a relationship with LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul) — it’s little surprise that the British artist had something to say about Swift’s budding romance with Kelce.
While chatting with the crowd following during a brief intermission in her show Saturday, Adele offered her support for the Chiefs as they attempt to vanquish the 49ers in the Big Game.
The reason? Swift, obviously.
Here’s what you need to know.
What did Adele say about Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and the Chiefs?
Adele gave Kansas City her backing Saturday, and Swift played a big factor in that decision — or, to be more specific, the outsized backlash to Swift’s relationship with Kelce.
“I’m a bit torn,” Adele said. “Because I kinda want the 49ers to win, but I also want the Chiefs to win. I think I want the Chiefs to win just because of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
And all of you that are complaining about Taylor Swift being at games, get a f— life, it’s her f— man.”
Adele explained that Swift made the NFL more “enjoyable to watch,” in her estimation. Football is confounding to the outside observer, filled to the brim with quirks and contradictions. Swift has provided an entryway for masses of girls and women looking for a reason to get into the game.
Adele is not planning on placing any bets for Sunday night’s clash, she said — she doesn’t really understand the sport’s yardage system. But she will be rooting for Swift.
