McEntire shared the news of the show’s renewal on Thursday (February 20). NBC uploaded a video of her telling her co-stars the show is getting a second season.
“We got picked up for a second season,” she told the cast as they stood holding hands in a circle in the show’s kitchen set.
Everyone cheered, clapped, and hugged each other as they celebrated the good news. Many tears were shed as well.
“We got picked up for a second season,” McEntire repeated, facing the camera with tears streaming down her face. She revealed they just got the news right before they were going on set to film the last episode of Season 1.
“What a gift! Thank you Lord, thank you Lord!” McEntire said, seeming absolutely overjoyed.

Happy’s Place Has Been A Smash Success For NBC
It comes as no surprise that NBC opted to renew Happy’s Place. The show’s pilot episode reached 10 million cross-platform viewers after its debut.
The show became the best new comedy series to ever launch on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
Happy’s Place has remained strong in the ratings game ever since its premiere in October 2024. Fans have grown attached to the funny and lovable characters, who include:
Bobbie (played by Reba McEntire) – A strong-willed woman from Tennessee who takes over running her late father’s tavern. Her world gets turned upside down when she discovers she has a younger half-sister who joins her in running the tavern.
Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo) – Bobbie’s half-sister. She’s an enthusiastic and passionate young woman. But she struggles to come to terms with her family history, and why her and Bobbie’s father didn’t play an active role in her childhood.
Emmett (played by Rex Linn) – The stoic, no-nonsense cook at Happy’s Place who was also close friends with Bobbie and Isabella’s late father, Happy. He likes to fish and also seems to really like Bobbie…if you know what we mean.
Gabby (played by Melissa Peterman) – The eccentric bartender at Happy’s Place who wants nothing more than to be loved by others.
Takoda (played by Tokala Black Elk) – The waiter and handyman at Happy’s Place who’s always available to offer a kind word or piece of advice.
Steve (played by Pablo Castelblanco) – The accountant at Happy’s Place who struggles with OCD. He and Takoda are close friends.

The show has also featured McEntire and Peterman’s former Reba sitcom co-stars Christopher Rich and Steve Howey in guest roles.
We can’t wait to see the entire Happy’s Place cast in a second season. Congratulations to them and the entire team behind the show!
